RICNIC PUTS YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE SPOTLIGHT BY GIVING THEM COMPLETE CONTROL OF THEIR CREATIVITY. WE SUPPORT OUR PARTICIPANTS TO FULFILL THEIR POTENTIAL THROUGH A RANGE OF FREE PROJECTS ACROSS THE UK.
Every year we challenge 16-22 year olds to form their own theatre company and stage a full-scale musical, taking full responsibility for every role on and off the stage. Running free-of-charge in various locations across the country, participants gain first-hand experience of running a show, whilst benefiting from training and mentoring by arts professionals.
A programme of mentoring and training opportunities for young people aspiring to hold a career in the creative industries. We deliver an annual series of masterclasses, training days and 1-to-1 mentoring opportunities with professionals currently working in the Arts sector. We also offer a number of paid work placements each year for young people aged 16-25 to join the staff team as ‘RicNic Associates’.
Facilitated workshops for schools and community settings aimed at building key skills and confidence for ages 7-18. Led by our team of experienced practitioners, these workshops use theatre activities to explore teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and critical thinking. Workshops are available to book across the UK, with a limited number of subsidised projects available annually.
A development programme supporting 16-25 year olds to create new works, explore new ideas and collaborate with others.
