Anyone aged 16-21 can get involved, and the process begins with the selection of production team members. This important team, oversees all the creative and organisational aspects of the show for each branch, and is made up of the 5 following incredibly exciting and rewarding roles on the Core Production Team:
Producer Director Musical Director Technical Director Choreographer
Each Production Team will have the option to recruit supporting roles as needed. If you are interested in being considered for any of these, please apply in the same way below Marketing & Promotions Manager Company Manager Costume Designer Assistant Director Assistant Choreographer/Dance Captain Assistant MD / Vocal Coach Design Team Stage Manager
Applications for all roles are now OPEN and you have until Friday 4th October to submit your applications.
You can find a description of each role's requirements hereand we are very happy to answer any further questions you might have. Please email any questions to Alexandra Finlay, Projects and Production Manager, via email@example.com.
You can apply either as an individual or a group (with all roles filled, or some missing). All you need to do if you want to apply is email firstname.lastname@example.org with three simple things:
* A short paragraph explaining why you want the role and what you think you can bring to it * A brief description of the experience which you think makes you right for the role (don't worry at all if there's not much - enthusiasm is more important!) * Some factual details: full name, age on 1st August 2020, email address and phone number
Applications should be received by Friday 4th October 2019. Applications are reviewed by everyone at RicNic HQ (the Projects & Production Manager, the Executive Director, and the Trustees), and appointments will be made on the merits of those applications, so do make your email as strong as possible! In the interests of fairness and ensuring outstanding production teams, RicNic HQ may ask previous post-holders for advice and may come back to applicants with additional questions - but in any circumstance, we aim to fill all positions within a few short weeks so that teams can get planning for next year!
For those appointed, there will of course be training and support during the year, so please don’t think you can’t apply because you don’t know everything about the role.
A note on RicNic Burton RicNic is excited to be opening our next branch in 2020. RicNic Burton will welcome young people from across Staffordshire to perform at the Brewhouse Arts Theatre in Burton on Trent in August 2020.
We are recruiting for a full Production Team to take on the exciting opportunity of building and shaping a brand new RicNic branch. Anyone who has a base in Staffordshire/Midlands for the summer is welcome to apply!
Alternatively, why not come on board in a mentoring position as Production Team Advisor (open to past participants of all ages - even if you're over 21)? This person would be appointed in order to assist the new production team as they go through their first year. This is a voluntary position and would suit someone with previous Production Team experience. The commitment could range from supporting at the end of the phone to meeting with the team in rehearsals (etc.), depending on what is needed. If you'd like to be involved in RicNic 2020 but don't quite have the time to commit to being fully on a production team, or if you're 21 or over, this could be the perfect role for you! Contact Alex (email@example.com) or Jen (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
