Could you contribute to RicNic's exciting future by becoming a trustee?
2015 was a big year for RicNic: not only did we enjoy two fabulous shows, courtesy of RicNic Hampshire and RicNic Oxford, but we also completed a successful round of fundraising that enabled us to begin planning in earnest for the future of the charity. The first step was to hire our first ever paid member of staff, Development and Production Manager Alexandra Finlay. Now – as part of our ambitious plan for overall expansion - we’re looking to grow our small Board of Trustees.
What do we need?
For ten years, RicNic has run award-winning youth theatre enterprises, allowing hundreds of young people to put on full musical productions from scratch in professional theatres – without paying any participation fees. Our participants frequently call RicNic a ‘life-changing experience’: as well as gaining friendships for life, those involved in RicNic nurture their passion for the creative arts whilst developing valuable leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
Our small yet dynamic board – Ben Nicholls, Nick Morris and Ed Goble - have taken things pretty far: but think what could be achieved with an expanded pool of knowledge! To that end, we’re seeking two to four volunteers to join our Board of Trustees on three-year appointments.
In particular, we’re keen to hear from people with experience in fundraising; business development; HR or legal management; theatre venue management; or knowledge of child protection procedures. However, above all we are interested in finding trustees who share our passion for theatre, access to the arts and youth community projects – so if any of the above sounds like you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
