Wanted: Musicians, writers, directors, choreographers, performers interested in creating the next generation of Musical
Theatre…
RicNic Commissions is a new writing and musical theatre composition project for anyone aged 16-25***. Working alongside some of our RicNic
Ambassadors and associate artists, renowned for their work in musical theatre, Commissions project participants will have the chance to write new
musical theatre scripts, scores and dance responses building towards an online showcase of work in progress, before developing the pieces for a live
performance.
The project will combine online workshops and meeting sessions with live intensive workshop days, allowing you to collaborate with a team spread
across the country to create amazing new pieces of work.
As with all RicNic projects, this opportunity is completely free to access and we want it to be shaped by those who are involved in it. This is why we would
like to hear from anyone interested in composition, lyric and script writing, choreography to create new work, and from directors and performers keen to
explore how you bring that new work to the stage. We are excited to be working with a highly talented team of creative mentors and partners and are
now looking for anyone aged 16-25 to get involved.
*** Priority will be given to participants aged 16-25 in the first instance. However if you are aged 25+ and are interested in getting involved please do register. Any remaining places after the closing date will be made available. We are aiming to bring together our first group online in April/May 2021, working towards an online showcase in December 2021 with options for live performance in 2022.
