We're social:
JOIN US!

A hugely exciting opportunity has arisen to join our award-winning youth charity as our first paid member of staff, overseeing the group's existing, highly successful projects, and playing a key role in driving our expansion.

Development & Production Manager

What does RicNic do?
RicNic is a genuine youth theatre company - a unique social enterprise where young people really do get to run the show. Every summer, we run projects for 16 to 21 year olds where, in a month, they put together a full musical production from scratch. Every single role - from the director to the dancers to the designer to the drummer - is undertaken by a young person, and at no cost to themselves - meaning that RicNic provides a genuine social mix as well as friendships for life.

Our participants frequently call RicNic a 'life-changing experience' where they develop a passion for the creative arts as well as skills in leadership, teamwork and communication. Hundreds of young people, and thousands of audience members, have benefitted from RicNic's unique ethos and outstanding productions over the past twelve years. You can find out more about our work by browsing this website, or getting in touch.

What is the opportunity?
To date, RicNic has been run entirely by volunteers. Now, an exciting chance has arisen to become our first paid staff member, working approximately 3 days a week in helping the Trustees to drive RicNic's success and expansion further, as well as to ensure the continued development of our existing projects in Oxford and Hampshire.

This new role will include fundraising, communications management, liaising with theatres and our talented participants, running special projects, and helping the Trustees realise their vision for new RicNic branches around the UK.

Much more than a specific skill-set or background, we are looking for someone dynamic, creative and energetic; someone with a sense of humour and the ability to work well in a small team; someone who can lead and innovate but who will also get stuck into the nitty-gritty; someone with a passion for theatre and for inspiring young people. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who gets RicNic and its special ethos, and who is motivated to work with us as we develop that.

To find out more about this role please download the job description. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
