Scrunchies 4 Theatre was set up during the first lockdown by Technical Theatre Student Rebecca who
wanted to raise funds to support theatre workers affected by the pandemic and global arts shutdown.
Making musical theatre themed hair accessories and stickers in her university room, she developed a small
business raising money for Acting for Others, The Actors Fund and an additional Charity of the Month.
RicNic is passionate about supporting young creative minds and entrepreneurs, particularly when they also
combine musical theatre, so we are thrilled to be selected as Rebecca’s Charity of the Month for February.
Any sales made over the coming weeks will generate a donation to RicNic, as well as to other essential
theatre charities.
With items inspired by shows on the West End, Broadway and the Silver Screen, all at very reasonable
prices, why not treat yourself or a loved one this month! The staff team are already planning ahead to
cover birthday gifts for friends and family this year!

“I first launched Scrunchies4theatre unofficially though my personal Facebook
in April 2020. I’d decided I wanted to raise money for the theatre industry
during the covid-19 pandemic. When I received over 100 pre-orders for 450+
scrunchies in the space of 24 hours, I decided to make this a long term
business and start an online shop. Since June 1st 2020 I have raised over
£4000 for 9 different charities and have hand made and sold over 2500
scrunchies, shipping them worldwide. Over the next year we hope to continue
this buy creating new products and new designs over the next 12 months.”
